some thoughts

so, it seems that I generally need a change in scenery in order to get the creative juices flowing; it just ain't happening at home. Not for drawing anyway; felting I can usually get done, just fine.

which would explain why many of my favorite drawings have come about at, say, Microsoft Game test Studio lunch rooms, at a table at Taco Del Mar, Ooba's, or a late-night trip to Denny's (past about 2am, I come up with awesomely weird stuff; we're talkin' cheerleader with a Boots head).

Sadly, there's almost always someone waiting for me to move my ass, because there's somewhere they want to be. Where do I want to be? Where the ideas are, thank you. So, sit your butt down; there are 5 more pages in my sketchbook that need filling, so cool it! The coffee refills are free.
..and depending on who you are, my impatient friend, you may have a Nintendo DS, an iPhone, a Sudoku book, a Blackberry, or a phone call to take outside.

This is why I occasionally want to go out alone.
sure, sometimes a barista will give you a funny look, after the third hour of sitting, sucking coffees and drawing intensely, but I often don't notice after the first thirty minutes, to be honest.

and if there's no sketchbook, I try to limit myself to 5 paper napkins. >_>

Anyway. it sounds like Matt is starting to make the cheese beans for dinner, and will likely gripe about how I "made him" make dinner, because I was just sitting, doing nothing, if I don't get into the kitchen, pronto.

Ciao,

reptile thoughts

so I've had a baby chameleon, an old man gecko (3rd hand), and have a baby tortoise.

The old man was a cinch, the babies; not so much.
So I started wondering about baby snakes.

I'm looking at getting my own little microscope, right now, and there's one for about $60 on Amazon.com that I'm considering... if anyone reads this and had a suggestion; please leave a comment!

Balls seem pretty easy, from what I've been reading; just occasionally fussy about food, and that's it.
But is that all there is to it?

Penny just started blowing booger bubbles again, so now she's in a smaller enclosure (rubbermaid), with paper towels as her substrate, and will be going to the vet's... again.
=_= I am never doing baby torts ever again. I now know people who have kept tortoises for 30-40 years, who won't do babies-- my favorite forum's most repeated phrase is probably "hatchlings are heart breakers", and now I know why.

I've read about reptiles since the time I could read! I like to think that I have a rough idea of what to do, but I guess there are just many things about reptiles you can't learn from a book...
Phoebe, my twin, says I should "stick to what has worked" and get another leopard gecko, but I always *pine* for the fjor--err-- snakes!
...I do miss Greg The Gecko, and they do make good travelling companions.
...and are cheaper than snakes.

Should I wait longer? Get a snake for my 30th birthday, rather than my 25th?
I've been waiting almost 22 years, anyway. maybe things will be more stable in 5 more years, and we'll be able to afford a healthy adult from a show! Yeah... maybe that needs to be my long-term dream, rather than a dash toward a dream that might turn into a financial nightmare?

Anyway, Penny seems to be enjoying exploring her hospital box, and Boots has finally settled down a bit.
Maybe I'l throw Harriet Fuzzylegs a cricket before I start working? Hm

Until later, namaste, bitches!
